VAS signs on the A1088 have been erected:
with some ingenuity, a couple of spanners, a tractor and some careful driving! the new VAS signage has been erected on the A1088 and the evidence is clear that it has made an immediate impact.

Coffee morning:

A date for our first coffee morning of 2022 has been set for Saturday 3rd December, 10am – 11.30am in St Georges Church. All are welcome to pop in for a coffee and a chat, bring some baking and help us plan to make this a regular village get together.

Charlie Haylock is a regular guest on Suffolk Radio and is not only a master of the Suffolk dialect but he has the ability to speak in a variety of English accents.  During his talk on the history of spoken English, you will find out how each invading force affected the English language.  The event will be in St George’s Church in Stowlangtoft on Saturday 19th November at 7.30pm, door open at 7pm with refreshments available.

Tickets are £10 for adults and accompanied children go free.  For more information and tickets at www.visitchurches.org.uk/whatson .  Tickets are also available to purchase at Pakenham Village Hall.

URGENT PLEA
We have had an enquiry from a descendant of the Sadler family that worked and lived around Stowlangtoft. The Gt. Grandfather of the enquirer was a carpenter and joiner on the estate and several members of the family lived in near by villages. Any information regarding the Sadler family would be much appreciated. Please Marion Sherwood on 07932 754078.

Village Volunteers are always gratefully appreciated and so should you have an occasional spare half an hour now and again then why not volunteer to help the Stowlangtoft community.
We now have a volunteer to help with the grass cutting at the church which is great news and another great example of community spirit.

Book Club
The Stowlangtoft book club meets on a monthly basis with the members taking it in turns to host the meetings and choose the titles. New members are always welcome. Please contact Julie on her email julesbury@aol.com should you wish to join.

Walking Social
In addition to the previous successful village walk earlier in the summer more interest has been shown in organising more walks and a date will soon be publicised for a village group walk.
